New Stable Block, Biggar

This project, to provide stabling and facilities for an equestrian eventer aims to demonstrate that stables don’t have to appear utilitarian externally and suffer from gloomy spaces internally. The new building references traditional farm buildings in its external materials, but adopts contemporary forms and detailing to capture natural light and enhance its location amongst mature trees on a sloping site in the countryside near Biggar in South Lanarkshire

The accommodation includes stabling for three horses, storage, equestrian showering facilities, and an outdoor yard for winter exercise.
