New Commuter Village, Armadale

This masterplan sketch design was prepared whilst at RMJM, for a developer considering the potential for a new town located in the countryside near Armadale in West Lothian. This was in response to the re-opening of the Bathgate-Airdrie Rail Link, and the potential for this as attractive commuting location to both Edinburgh and Glasgow.

The radial plan is inspired partly by the natural contours of the site and the potential to create a new loch at its heart.
